About Us
Stonehaven Horizon is a voluntary group which was formed six years ago to foster civic pride in the town. It began as a subcommittee of the Community Council.
Initially we organised clean-ups of the various trouble spots in the town. It soon became evident that an action group was needed and so Horizon was born. We have developed as a group both in numbers and in the amount of projects we have undertaken.
Since the group was formed in 2004 we have been involved in various projects such as providing and maintaining the town's many floral displays, working with the Stonehaven schools' Eco Groups and regular community litter picks.
In the past few years Stonehaven Horizon has been awarded two Good Neighbourhood awards, a Silver medal in 2008, and Gold in 2009. This year we have entered the premier competition - Beautiful Scotland, in the coastal resort category.
We meet in the Invercarron Resource Centre, Low Wood Road at 7pm on the 3rd Monday of each month.
